Restoring After a Fire
When you’re interested in restoring after a fire, there’s a few things to think about. The Grant County Education Service District offices were located in a log building that was built in the early 60’s in John Day Oregon. The structure also housed the 911 network computers as well as other servers for the county.
In the early hours of Sept 16th a fire was sparked by a hot light fixture that failed and fell into foliage on the ground next to the log structure. Most of the building was a total loss but the fire department was able to save the computers in the server room.
Mike was on-site the next morning. First priority was to set up temporary office space and to get the servers moved and running in a new temporary room. Montgomery Remodeling and Restoration had a mobile office set up and functioning on the property within days of restoring after a fire.
Within a week, Montgomery had a team on the ground to start the contents sorting and disposal as well as the building demolition.
Montgomery Remodeling and Restoration worked closely with the insurance company and the ESD staff to begin the process of reconstructing the building. Montgomery hired a designer to best utilize the existing foot print and basement of the original building while upgrading the space to offer bright, large, and efficient offices.
The staff were able to move into their new building in early April.
